Snoring, Sleep and Hyperactivity

There has been evidence in the past that sleep disorders may lead to learning difficulties but a new study is suggesting that children who snore are four times as likely to be hyperactive that non snores. The research, published in Sleep the jounral of Associated Professional Sleep Societies, was a longitudinal study following up earlier work.
The actual paper is not online yet so there is only the press release available.
This study needs to be treated with caution, at least until the full version is available. No definition of hyperactivity is given so they are probably aren’t referring to specific diagnosis ADD / ADHD. Also, being over-weight is often a cause of snoring and weight problems are indicative of a poor diet which is also linked to hyperactivity.
