Computers Help ADHD Therapy
In small, exploratory study, children with ADHD were allowed to use laptop for tasks that are normally done on pen & paper for Key Stage 2 level science tasks. The study found “computerised presentation significantly improved the accuracy of responses and the on-task focus of participants with ADHD“.
This is promising but mainly shows that children with ADHD / ADD can be taught but it requires a different approach. This may simply be down to different learning styles, e.g visual or kinetic. Try out this simple questionnaire to discover your learning style. For an alternative view of learning styles, check out this post on Technology in Learning.
