I too HATE the drug, but at the same time cannot function without it. Drug companies REALLY hit the jackpot with adderall, eh? I mean, narcotics such as heroin (brought to you by the good people at Bayer) or morphine have obvious and quickly apparent pitfalls such as a complete "exit" from anything resembling a normal life. But not adderall... in fact, if you can keep finding new and creative ways to up your dosage, you can presumably go on "overachieving" forever. At least until your brain altogether STOPS producing dopamine and seratonin due to the continued stress on the neural transmitters which carry these two, vital chemicals... And then you can live out the rest of your days clinically and incurably depressed with only Parkinson's disease to look forward to. American drug companies are far more evil than any Columbian drug lord or heroin dealer. The drug companies have constructed a legal shield for themselves under the pretense of "medicine" for the good of mankind. At least the drug lord has no such delusion, and therefore presents himself honestly... allowing his potential clients to make up their own minds as to whether or not they want his product. I ask you, does a "hyperactive" child get to make that kind of informed choice when his doctor prescribes amphetamine at the behest of his parents and with the blessing of his teachers? I know from my own experience that this prescription virtually dooms the child to a life of either low grade or intense addiction to an unnatural substance, along with the physical and emotional degradation that comes with it. Many of us have been experiencing the same problems. the next break you have try one week without taking it. stay in your house, watch tv, invite people over...do whatever. if you can make it one week than you can make it through the following week. its all in the mind....control your mind and you can control your habits. ive been in the same boat for 2 years. however, i only take them once or twice a month but weeks after i get extremely paranoid. its weird. good luck. It is SO illegal wich sux!!! I have been taking this medication for most my life as well. It is the ONLY way I live a day. I honestly hate that. I cannot function or even get out of bed without it. Also because I have built a tolerance I am constantly searching for this med. I am 100 lbs and take up to 150mg on average!!! I hate living like this! I have been on all of them from regular to time released. But I have been on adderall the longest. probably 10 or more years. My point is its my life and its all that i know. I have a very fast heart rate. When on it 110-145. when off it 90-120. Im scared but Its been my enabler my whole life. I work full time I waitress and I train the other waitress and I just start college part time. But my heart. I never have to increase the dose. it always works. some day the doctors will want to take it from me.I think my life willbe over because it is all i know.People do not put your children on addicting drugs. a faster beating heart stops soon then a regular heart does. Stratra is not a stimulite try that, if u most or just have patience for your children. I am real person and a.d.d. medication is no joke.No one can help me now. Do not let this happen to children.I do respect my adderall but sadly its what makes my world go round and I 'm 22 and I still bad a.d.d. and I can't go wihtout.
