i have been on vyvanse since the 19th of this month. the first two times i took the drug it made me break out in random cold sweats. but after i had gotten use to it, it makes my day easier i can get all my school work done im able to concentrate in class something i havent had the urge to do in years.and most importantly it allows me to conversate in a more intellgent manner gives me the drive i have been missing.

I have been on Vyvanse (30mg) for 4 days now and have noticed an increased energy level. I like to exersise hard every day, but have been reluctant to do so after taking Vyvanse worried that increased heart rate and the drug being a vasodilator mixed with a hard work out will be harmful.

I bought a few of these off of my friend. I snorted one and I felt like I could do anything, both physically and mentally. I moved our grand piano to the other side of the house by myself and I wrote a research paper that wasn't due for a month. Obviously the addition of those proteins in the compound didn't work too well because not only did it 'work' when I snorted it, but it gave me better results than orally ingested Adderall usually does. A+ in my book. I'm wondering if maybe Shire is making up the whole "IT CAN'T BE SNORTED SO DON'T WORRY" thing so that parents will feel better.

My son is 9 and in forth grade...... He has been diagnoised as add for a few years and we have tried changing his diet and also using quite expensive whole vitamins for deficiences that occur in add patients ........

my son has taken VYVANSE 30 mg for the last 3 days. He missed school on monday at the drs. appt and started the medication on tues.

---he finished his math homeworkpaper in 20 minutes something that used to take 2 or 3 hours originally .
--- he finished all his spellinig which he usually gets done on thursday .... just because he can't stay on task ever...

He is a pure delight so far...
I have noticed a little agitation that I don't remember but he isn't in a trance so he is voicing his grumpyness with the bus being hot... we live in florida!!! lol ......

I regret not listening to my gut on this one that he may have needed the medication ...

----he got all his work done both tuesday and wednesday in class which is a feat he hasn't acomplished at all this year ......

It is worth trying, in our case, just to see a child who has felt like a failure, felt as tho it was his fault, that he was a looser know that he did his work and finished it early. his confidence is amazing and he is truly proud of himself. And for the first time he has put forth the effort and created that feeling in himself.

My 12 year old has been on Concerta for years now and it helps him in school but he is a bear to live with. He gets very angry easily and even he says he hates being angry. Over the summer we tried to take him off Concerta for a day and the difference was amazing. He was happy ALL DAY LONG. But...he could not focus and had to be redirected about 5 times to stay on task. He even said he thought he needed med. So we tried vyvanse. With in one hour I saw my happy 12 year old go from a bright bouncy kid to dragged out AND an emotional wreck. He cried most of the day and when he was not crying he was angry and unreasonable again. He desperately wants to feel better. When he was really little (2nd grade) we tried Ritalin and that was not a match. ADD effects the entire family not just the person with it. Meds effect the entire family. We need a happy pill that helps my son focus.

I've been on Vyvanse for 3 days now. Other than being Jittery a bit for the 1st day I haven't had any negative experience other that a dry mouth.

I've had undiagnosed ADD for a lifetime, now at 47 I've decided to try and do something about it. Vyvanse has made a difference for me in these first few days.

Time will tell..............

I am 40 years old and just started Vyvanse 4 days ago, 30mg. My symptoms seem to be different from others. I feel great for the first 3-4 hours after taking git at 7am. Focused, motivated, relaxed, etc. But the I gradually start with a heavy head feeling with a slight headache and get sleepy. This worsens as the day goes on and by dinner time I can hardly stay awake and just have a hangover like feeling. I am sleeping better than I have in years though. Is this the "crash" i am hearing about? I almost feeli like I might need to take another 30mg mid day but havent tried because my dr has me scared about taking exactly as prescribed. Do you think this means I need a higher dose so the focused, motivated feeling lasts longer thean 4 hours?

Hi my son started taking Vyvanse yesterday so far it is a HUGE improvement. He is 14 and has been on Concerta since the second grade. We have tried everything in between and yesterday we were given this to try...So far so good..We also tried everything from Natural medecines to diet and so one before we did medecation. We have even tried taking our son off medecation to see how he does. If you don't have a child with ADHD you will never understand what they and the whole family goes through. TOO ALL THE PARENTS who don't give up and fight for there ADHD child it is great to know.

My son (16) started Vyvance about 30 days ago. It seems to be working well w/o any major side affects. The biggest side effect would be him having a hard time falling asleep, but that has been an issue on /off w/ him in the past so it can't totally be tied to the Vyvance. He's been on Ritalin, Adderall, Concerta, Foclin, etc... All at different ages and all came w/ certain side effects. Vyvance so far has been a good mix for him.
I think w/ all medications, each person could react differently to each one. That is the nature of our internal make-up. The key is to find the one that works best.
