No Improvement.. how long do you have to wait to see any at all?
Hi I have a 7.5 year old and we have been doing the Dore program since October and we have not seen one tiny bit of improvement in our son, in fact we are thinking it has gone worse since he came off the Fish Oils to do Dore. I am feeling very disheartened. I have been called in to school yet again to day for behaviour issues, mainly fidgeting and shouting out in class amongst a few other things.. we are hauled in week after week.. I was expecting some improvement by now but we have none.. We have a son who's self esteem is in tatters and mine is not much better.. I am worn out and exhausted with all the problems with school and I feel like a terrible mother as I have been on and on at my son for his behaviour and now he dislikes himself very much, but is not able to change it seems.
My son suffers from ADHD tendencies, e.g. fidgeting/shouting out/impulsive and difficulty in concentration and difficulty in applying maths to real life. He is brilliant at Literacy and reading/spelling and remembering numbers e.g. times tables, but cannot apply it at all.
Has anyone had improvements after 6 months or am I being premature? What are mental tasks? My husband was very skeptical about Dore and I was so for it but I am beginning to feel that we are wasting our time and we are going to be left as we were before.. I don't know where else to turn.. I live in hope that someone can offer me some glimmer of hope or assurance that they felt like me and it still worked in the end???????????
Thanks,
