DORE closure Australia
Hi everyone. I have 2 kids on the DORE programme, my daughter has dyslexia and my son has Asperger's syndrome. My daughter has just started mentals, my son is 2 months into the programme.
Apparently Australia has gone into voluntary administration. I have no anger, I have deep sadness and am horrified that we lost the children's money that we saved so very hard for. The money was to assist them in their needs in their lives and now it has gone, we don't have the benefit of seeing DORE all the way through.
More sadness when I heard that the UK is also in lockdown mode. Does this mean because of 2 countries pulling out, that other people won't sign up in case it happens to them - and therefore ensuring that the UK and Australia have no way of making a comeback for all those already signed up?
I hope this isn't the case, but my husband is an accountant and has filled me in a bit about what happens in these situations and he doesn't hold out hope since we found out about the UK's lockdown.
I have emailed a letter to our PM, begging the government to step in and help, might be to no avail, but at least I've given it a shot. If anyone has any other ideas on avenues we could pursue, please let me know.[:'(]
PS perhaps other Aussies can also send email to politicians or government lobbying for assistance - with alot of voices in on the act, we may be heard?
