Myomancy ADHD, Dyslexia and Autism

My son Hugo

My son Hugo

Hi everyone, this is my first time I have commented on my son Hugo who is 9 years old and has being doing the Dore programme for 8 months now.  He is quite badly dyslexic and also has problems with numbers. I was told at the start that it would probably take 18months + to get results.  To date Hugo has made progress on his equilibrium and sensory results but it is very slow and the only change I can see is that he can now read without having to put his finger on the words to follow text.  I do worry about him, he is just such a lovely little boy - so positive and always trying his best.  We just recently got turned down to a school that has a specialist unit for dyslexia ("we don't have enough students of Hugo's ability") saying Hugo needed too much 1:1.  Obviously very upsetting news  - more for us the parents as Hugo just takes it all in his stride.

Reading other peoples notes we too had bad days in the beginning.   Lots of crying, and frustration, but he does them now religiously.  I just hope we get there in the end.  It would be a miracle if he could just be equal to his peers and gain some friends which he finds so hard to keep.
